La restructuration de ce duplex repose sur deux gestes principaux : libérer complètement la façade pour prolonger les vues vers la terrasse, et réduire la mezzanine existante afin de retrouver un véritable espace en double hauteur.La reprise de la structure métallique permet ainsi une expansion spatiale à la fois horizontale et verticale, perceptible dès l’entrée.
Au niveau bas, la cuisine et la cheminée sont intégrées dans un même dispositif qui structure la salle à manger. Une grande porte coulissante ouvre la suite principale vers le séjour et prolonge la perspective jusqu’à la terrasse.
Le projet travaille également sur l’épaisseur des parois, qui intègrent rangements, mobilier et équipements techniques. Dans les chambres comme dans la cuisine, ces volumes continus accueillent placards, bureaux et éléments intégrés afin de libérer les espaces. À l’étage, ce principe organise également la salle d’eau semi-ouverte, la buanderie intégrée dans la circulation et les équipements techniques regroupés dans les toilettes.

The restructuring of this duplex is based on two main gestures: fully opening the façade to extend views towards the terrace, and reducing the existing mezzanine to restore a true double-height space. The reworking of the steel structure creates both a horizontal and vertical spatial expansion, immediately perceptible from the entrance.
On the lower level, the kitchen and fireplace are integrated into a single element that structures the dining area. A large sliding door opens the main bedroom suite towards the living space and extends the view all the way to the private terrace.
The project also explores the thickness of the walls, which incorporate storage, furniture and technical equipment. In both the bedrooms and the kitchen, these continuous volumes integrate wardrobes, desks and built-in elements, freeing up the living spaces. Upstairs, the same principle organizes the semi-open bathroom, the laundry area integrated into the circulation space, and the technical equipment grouped within the WC.
